Parliamentary Education Committee expects {Sabah} to discuss the third round and critical grades proposals

The Parliamentary Education Committee has suggested raising the issue of granting a third round to those who failed in the final stages of the 2023-2024 academic year, and addressing critical grades in non-final stages during the Cabinet session this week.
Committee member Taama Al-Lahibi told Al-Sabah: The committee submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Education regarding granting a third round to those who failed in the second round of the final primary, intermediate and preparatory stages for the 2023-2024 academic year, as it follows up on all decisions that serve the interests of students in order to raise the success rate, stressing that the committee supports this proposal.
He added that the committee also submitted a proposal to address critical grades for those who failed in the second round of the non-final stages, but this matter is not exclusively related to the Ministry of Education, because the Council of Ministers is the one that issues the final decision in this regard in order to present the views of the higher authorities.
Al-Lahibi pointed out that the failure rate in the second round of the final stages is high, especially in the sixth preparatory stage, so the committee seeks to grant a
third round to those who failed.
He noted that the committee will follow up on any discussion of the third round issue and address the critical grades for the unfinished stages for those who failed in the second round of the 2023-2024 academic year.
