Al-Najjar: Continuous efforts to improve the investment climate

The Executive Director of the Iraq Development Fund, Mohammed Al-Najjar, confirmed that work is continuing towards improving the investment climate in Iraq and making it a real destination for specialized global qualitative efforts. Al-Najjar said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": "Iraq needs a very large volume of work in various regions and cities, and from here we can estimate the volume of work and projects that must be implemented," noting that "such a need for work requires a market that provides an attractive environment that suits the large volume of work."
He added that "activating the reality of investment and the presence of major international companies alongside national companies and achieving integration in performance is important, and here there will be an abundance of job opportunities in all governorates directly and indirectly that no country in the world has known."
He pointed out that "work in Iraq must be integrated, as there is a connection between sectors when activating the labor market in this country, which is a major focus of work at the regional and global levels, and at the same time there are great wealth that can be invested in the direction that maximizes the reality of the Iraqi economy."
He pointed out that "youth is an important axis in economic activity and investment must be made in this important category that can be qualified in a way that achieves the highest levels of benefit, as investment in human resources represents the most important and successful investment and achieves great returns for the country," noting that "there are successful global experiences that can be benefited from."
He stressed "the necessity of creating youth expertise that supports the extensive investment operations that the country seeks during the coming period, and in this matter there are great economic benefits, as the presence of local expertise in all sectors means financial gains for the country by dispensing with bringing in global expertise, the presence of which requires large financial allocations that can be provided to the federal budget."
Economic expert Amer Naji Saleh explained that "the next stage requires serious work to improve the investment environment in the country, as the volume of work is large in Iraq, and this matter requires facilitating tasks by creating an attractive work environment within the Iraqi market."
He explained that "Iraq, with these riches and job opportunities, requires concerted efforts from all concerned institutions in a way that facilitates business and creates a work environment that suits the Iraqi economy and its wealth, which has become of global interest."
He pointed out that "Iraq now has a private sector capable of implementing major projects in all sectors without exception," and pointed to "the importance of building trust with the Iraqi private sector and putting it at the forefront, as it can take on major responsibilities within the Iraqi labor market." He explained that "the projects implemented by the local private sector are important and deserve to be granted trust and be the deciding factor during the coming period, especially since the volume of work is large and requires great effort in all specializations without exception, and from here we can indicate the volume of work required in Iraq."
