    Information / Baghdad..
Member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Kazem Al-Tawki, confirmed today, Thursday, the continuation of oil smuggling through the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Tawki said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The director of the Oil Marketing Company SOMO confirmed the smuggling of about 300 thousand barrels of oil through Sulaymaniyah to neighboring countries."
He added that "the smuggling of oil from the region is not a new phenomenon, but it needs to be stopped," noting that "there are approximately 300,000 barrels smuggled daily to neighboring countries, according to SOMO."
Al-Tawki stressed the need to "stop oil smuggling operations and hold accountable the oil companies operating in the Kurdistan Region for violating the law and the constitution." End /25H
