Mustafa Abdul Rahman Abdul Ahaq, head of the Exporters and Importers Syndicate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, said that trade exchange between Iran and the region reaches 6 billion dollars annually, and we seek to increase it in light of more communication and signing memoranda of understanding.
This came in a speech delivered by Abdul Rahman Abdullah at a forum to identify joint commercial and investment opportunities between the Iranian province of Khuzestan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, held in the city of Ahvaz (southwest).
He stressed that the Kurdistan Region of Iraq is an old neighbor of Iran and has 12 official and semi-official borders with the Islamic Republic of Iran, through which trade and economic exchange takes place.
He pointed out that a memorandum of understanding was signed at the Ahvaz Chamber of Commerce, saying that it would contribute to facilitating trade relations with this Iranian province.
