    Information/Baghdad..
Legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi said on Wednesday that what Türkiye is doing in the north is tantamount to declaring war on Iraq according to international law.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "What Turkey is doing in northern Iraq is considered a violation of Articles (1, 2, 3, 18) of the United Nations Charter related to the sovereignty of states and is classified according to international law as a declaration of war on Iraq."
He added, "Türkiye is using Article (31) of the United Nations Charter, which allows states the right to legitimate defense, and this is rejected because it is a right restricted by notification to the UN Security Council."
He explained that "the Turks are adhering to the agreements concluded with the former regime. These agreements were concluded until the war with Iran in 1988. They are gone when the influence disappears and are considered temporary and not permanent because they were not deposited in the United Nations," stressing that "these agreements have expired and have not been ratified by the current parliament."
He continued: "Turkey is pursuing the Kurdistan Workers' Party and they are in internal problems with Turkey," indicating that "the Iraqi government must file a complaint through the Iraqi representative in the United Nations because such actions are a threat to international peace and security and this is legally available according to international law." End/25
