MP for the parliamentary initiative bloc, Adnan Burhan Al-Juhaishi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Sunni forces have three options to elect a new parliament speaker.
Al-Jahishi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The three options are that both candidates Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Salem Al-Issawi go to the voting session and the one who gets the most votes will be the speaker of parliament."
He added, "The other option is for both candidates to submit their resignations in the same session and move forward with a compromise candidate," noting that "the third axis, which is excluded by everyone, is to open the door to amending the internal regulations of the House of Representatives."
He explained that "the political forces are moving towards choosing one of the axes to elect a new Speaker of the House of Representatives in today's session." End 25h
