    Information/Baghdad…
MP Rafiq Al-Salihi revealed, today, Wednesday, the reasons for postponing the voting session on the Personal Status Law.
Al-Salihi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "There is no disagreement over the draft personal status law in all its contents within the House of Representatives."
He continued: "The last session was adjourned due to a dispute between the Kurdish and Sunni components over the land law in Kurdistan and Kirkuk, and because of this dispute, the vote on the law was postponed."
He said that "the Personal Status Law in general will be passed and voted on by the majority and in a consensual manner, despite the objection of some parties to it."
He pointed out that "the personal status law according to the Jaafari doctrine is specific to the Shiite component and does not harm other components," indicating that "the law is of general benefit to all and is a right for the Shiite component, like the rest of the components." End/25
