    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
The Chairman of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali Al-Lami, stressed today, Monday (November 4, 2024), that combating corruption is the responsibility of everyone, including official institutions and popular activities, noting that confronting this scourge is a major national task, a large part of which falls on the shoulders of the oversight agencies.
The Integrity Commission stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that "Al-Lami explained during a meeting that brought him together at the Commission's headquarters with the President of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, Ammar Subhi Khalaf, and the accompanying delegation, the importance of activating cooperation agreements between state institutions and supporting their work in a way that achieves their assigned goals, especially the cooperation agreement between the Commission and the Bureau, indicating the Commission's intention to intensify cooperation with the Bureau and hold workshops, seminars and conferences that contribute to developing the cadres of both parties, whether auditing or investigative, and spreading and consolidating the culture of integrity and commitment to the ethics of public office, and focusing on the sanctity and inviolability of public money."
Al-Lami noted "the support provided by state institutions to the oversight effort, praising the support and assistance provided by the judicial and executive authorities to the oversight agencies, and the Prime Minister's Council making combating corruption a top priority in its government program, expressing his hope that the cooperation between the Authority and the Bureau will be fruitful and effective and serve the noble national mission of standing up to corruption and striking the hands of its perpetrators."
For his part, the Chairman of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, Ammar Sobhi Khalaf, pointed out the difficulty of the task undertaken by the two oversight institutions, which is to follow up on corruption files, audit them, investigate them, and refer them to the judiciary. He praised the work of the Authority and considered it, along with the work of the Bureau, a single coordinated effort, resulting in reducing corruption, identifying its perpetrators and bringing them to justice, and returning the money obtained from it.
