{Local: Al Furat News} The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali Al Lami, stressed that combating corruption is everyone’s responsibility, including official institutions and popular activities, noting that confronting this scourge is a “huge national task” a large part of which falls on the shoulders of the oversight agencies.
The Integrity Media stated in a statement received by {Euphrates News}, that "Al-Lami, during his meeting with the head of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, Ammar Subhi Khalaf, at the headquarters of the Integrity Commission, stressed the importance of activating cooperation agreements between state institutions in order to achieve their goals."
He added that the Authority is determined to "intensify cooperation with the Bureau by holding workshops, seminars and conferences that aim to develop the staff of both parties," whether in the auditing or investigative field, in addition to "spreading and consolidating the culture of integrity."
Al-Lami also praised the support provided by state institutions to oversight efforts, noting that the judicial and executive authorities "support the oversight agencies," while the Council of Ministers places combating corruption at the "top of its priorities within the government program."
For his part, the Chairman of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau stressed the "difficulty of the task undertaken by the two oversight institutions in following up on, auditing and investigating corruption files."
He praised the efforts of the Integrity Commission, noting that coordination with the Bureau aims to "reduce corruption, identify its perpetrators and bring them to justice."
