On Monday, the Federal Ministry of Oil and the Kurdistan Regional Government met with buyers of Kurdish oil in Baghdad.
Today (April 3, 2023), Fares Issa, the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s representative office in Baghdad, told media close to the region’s presidency that “the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Ministry of Oil are currently meeting with oil buyers, and the delegations of the Kurdistan Regional Government and SOMO will meet with the oil buyers after this meeting.” ".
Erbil and Baghdad reached a preliminary agreement to export Kurdistan's oil under the supervision of SOMO, according to leaks of the ongoing bilateral talks since the cessation of oil exports from the Kurdistan region.
And Kurdish press reports stated that foreign companies and oil buyers arrived in Erbil today (Monday 4-3-2023) to discuss the purchase of Kurdistan's oil according to the new controls.
