    SPEAK LIFE Empty SPEAK LIFE

    Post by csd9013 Sat 19 Dec 2015, 7:58 am

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” Proverbs 18:21

In our tongues is the power to produce life, and in our tongues is the power to produce death. What are you saying with your tongue? Your life today is a direct result of the words you spoke yesterday. If you want to change your tomorrow, change what you’re saying today. Speak life. Speak good over yourself. The Bible calls the tongue a world of evil (see James 3:6). It can make someone feel small if used in a negative and demoralizing way, or it can make someone feel great and awesome if uses in the right way. It’s a matter of how we will choose to use our tongues.

I use to be my own worst critic. I was so abusive to myself with my words. When I made mistakes, I would talk down to myself, but then God began to renew my mind and transform my life. He helped me learn how to be my own best friend and how to encourage myself. The Bible says, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (see Ephesians 4:29). When you’re ministering grace to the hearers, you’re letting people know they can make it and that everything is going to be alright. People love to be around encouraging people.

When David was faced with a distressing situation, the Bible says in 1 Samuel 30:6 that he encouraged himself in the Lord. Another translation says he strengthened himself. When you are encouraging yourself, you are strengthening yourself. With everything going on in your life, speak life, speak good and be strengthened.

Prayer: Father God, I repent for every word that I’ve spoken that was not right. I choose to speak life over myself and others. Bring my tongue into submission of you. Help me become someone that greatly encourages myself and others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Absolute fact for the Born again believer because there is the power of the living God behind every syllable. Jesus put a ring of authority on your finger, authority over all the works of Satan, which Jesus won for us on the cross. Yet if you are unaware of the authority, it's like having a  overflowing bank account you never draw upon, draw it out and watch what happens. Jesus'  word is a lamp for my feet and a sword in my hand, victory assured.
