Baghdad / ... The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Tuesday the final summary of the winter plan for the agricultural season 2018-2019 and the methods of irrigation.
"The ministry has announced the final conclusion of the winter plan for the agricultural season 2018-2019 and the methods of irrigation," ministry spokesman Hamid Nayef said in a statement.
Al-Nayef added that "the total area planted for this season amounted to (12047395) dunums, and to different winter crops." He explained that "the cultivated areas in the manner of irrigation, whether rivers, projects or wells were (5353509) dunums, the areas planted with rain, semi-secured and non- Rain, Damiya and Sihiya (6693886) donums. "
He pointed out that "the total area cultivated for wheat crop amounted to (7207982) while the areas cultivated with barley crop (4305741) dunums, while the areas planted with vegetable crops amounted to (533672) acres.
He added that "the ministry completed all its procedures for this season by the end of December 2018 for the central and southern regions and at the end of January 2019, for the western and northern areas, except for the Kurdistan region, where farmers were equipped with seeds and fertilizers and all agricultural inputs and according to the agricultural plan approved, Good "areas where, if all goes well, we will reach self-sufficiency approaches for some crops."
The spokesman called on all farmers and farmers to "continue to increase agricultural production in quantity and quality, and to achieve self-sufficiency."

The official spokesman of the ministry Hamid Nayef said in a statement received by "Iraq News" that "the total area planted for this season amounted to 12 million 47 thousand and 395 dunums and different winter crops," noting that "the areas planted in the manner of irrigation, whether rivers or projects or wells five million and 353 thousand And 509 dunums, while the areas planted with rain and semi-secured and not guaranteed rain, damya and salinity 6 million 693 thousand and 886 dunums.

Nayef said that "the ministry completed all its procedures for this season by the end of December 2018 for the central and southern regions and at the end of January 2019 for the western and northern regions except for the Kurdistan region, where the farmers were equipped with seeds and fertilizers and all agricultural inputs.
"If all goes well, it will reach the levels of self-sufficiency for some crops," he said, calling on all farmers and farmers to "continue to increase agricultural production, both qualitatively and qualitatively, to reach self-sufficiency."

The statement pointed out that the ministry completed all procedures for this season by the end of December 2018 for the central and southern regions and at the end of January 2019 for the western and northern regions except the Kurdistan region, where the farmers were equipped with seeds and fertilizers and all agricultural inputs according to the planned agricultural plan.
"If things go well, we will reach self-sufficiency approaches for some crops," he said, calling on all farmers and farmers to continue to increase agricultural production, both qualitatively and qualitatively, towards self-sufficiency.
