    The Ministry of Planning, yesterday, new statistics on the poverty rate in Iraq, after more than a week announcing an extended statistic. 
    Planning and confirmed, yesterday, that the poverty rate does not exceed 22.5%, after it was announced that the ratio rose to 30%. And it revealed its intention to launch a new strategy to alleviate poverty rate in Iraq. 
    Said Abdul Zahra al - Hindawi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, in a press statement received (range) a copy of it yesterday, " The Planning Ministry has not issued any new indicators for the poverty rates in Iraq and that the official index approved by the Iraqi government and the World Bank for poverty level is (22.5 %) according to the latest study carried out by the Ministry of poverty at the end of 2014 ". 
    He explained Hindawi in his statement that "everything is traded indicators regarding the level of poverty is a speculation and expectations are not based on a study or field survey , " explaining that "the Ministry of Planning is preparing to implement a new survey in the coming period to identify the indicators of poverty by about accurate . " . 
    Planning spokesman, adding that "Iraq has suffered two crises Mtlazemtin in the second half of 2014 Tmthelta a sharp fall in oil prices and the occupation of the terrorist Daesh many areas resulted in the occurrence of waves of migration to the Kurdistan region and most of the other Iraqi provinces." 
    Hindawi pointed out that " the two crises , setting off down the growth of the Iraqi economy , the level of 6% between 2013 and 2014 in what was expected to be a growth of 9 percent, as the industry and the construction sector has seen a significant decline in the growth rate of (27%) to a negative growth rate of ( 18%). " 
    He noted the government official that the areas affected by the occupation of Daesh terrorist is Nineveh, Salahuddin and Anbar, according to the study conducted by the ministry in the second half of 2014- has seen a remarkable increase in poverty rates reached 41% after the ratio (20%) before the advent of Daesh, "adding that" poverty rates also rose by notable in the Kurdistan region, which reached 12.5% after it was around 3%, and the percentage in the rest of the northern governorates (Kirkuk - Diyala) rose to about (18%), in the southern provinces , the rate was (31.5%), and in the provinces of the center (17%) while the rate of poverty in the capital , Baghdad (13%). " 
    He Hindawi that" the Ministry of planning in cooperation with the House of Representatives and a number of other ministries and civil society organizations as well as the World Bank is preparing to launch a new strategy to alleviate poverty for the years 2017-2021 takes into consideration the fact , security, humanitarian and economic challenges faced by Iraq. " 
    and the spokesman planning" the first strategy launched by the ministry for the years 2010-2014 has succeeded in achieving the goal of reducing the poverty rate from ( 23%) to less than 16% in the first half of 2014, but because of the deteriorating security and economic crises re indicators of poverty to rise to $ (22.5%) at the national level. " 
    The Hindawi told (long - Presse), 9 of December of this, " The estimates indicate that the poverty rate in Iraq has risen to 30% over the past year in 2016 after it had been 22% in the last survey conducted by the Ministry of Planning in 2014," He is stressing that " the ministry will conduct a new survey of the poverty levels during the first quarter of the current year 2017 in order to give a precise ratio." 
    Revealed MP Najiba Najib, a member of the parliamentary economic committee, in a statement on Monday, the high poverty rate in Iraq to 35% at the highest rate up to the country for nearly 100 years.
