    The Canadian Defense Ministry confirmed that cooperation between Ottawa and Kiev in the defense agreement does not provide for the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, according to the agency "Tass."

    The agency quoted the ministry clarified regarding this matter: "No, the Convention does not provide for the supply of lethal weapons for (Ukraine) .. the agreement identifies areas of joint cooperation on issues such as defense policy, research, development and production in the field of defense, military and education."

    The Ukrainian Defense Minister Stjepan Polowcurak, the Canadian counterpart Harjit Sajjan, signed an agreement today between the two countries in the field of defense.

    According to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada, the document sets out the priority areas of cooperation, namely defense research, material support and logistics services
