BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
Killed at least 18 people , including civilians on Saturday in a suicide car bombing in the city of Khost , eastern Afghanistan, according to the Interior Ministry announced the Afghan.
Said ministry spokesman Najib Danesh's "Agence France - Presse," that " the explosion occurred at a bus station , but local police said the attack targeted security forces working with US forces in the state."
He said Danesh "resulted in a suicide car bombing in the state of Khost , killing 18 people and wounding six others, including two children."
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the Kandahar attack , which comes as the Taliban rebels climb their attacks since the start of spring.
The attack comes a day after Saturday killed 15 Afghan soldiers in the rebel Taliban attack on their base in Kandahar.
The Taliban launched the annual "spring offensive" in late April last marking the escalation of fighting in the United States is seeking to develop a new strategy in Afghanistan.
The US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis warned last month of "another difficult year" for security forces in Afghanistan.
