Agriculture is making plans to re-liberated agricultural production spaces

, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture administrative Dr. Mahdi Sahar al - Jubouri said that the proportion of arable land amounting to 27 percent of the total area of Iraq and the equivalent of 48 million acres , but the exploiter of which actually does not exceed 16 million acres roughly equivalent to 36 percent of arable land fell to almost 10 million acres after the events of the terrorist Daesh and exit areas of agricultural land in the provinces of Anbar, Nineveh and Salahuddin state control.
He added that the land now returned , mostly after defeating the "Daesh" terrorist and put the Ministry of Agriculture plans to return these areas for agricultural production in relation to crops strategy, which we have lost through which up to one million tons of wheat and barley crops, as well as support and the return of livestock projects.
Jubouri said that the percentage of agricultural land in Iraq , untapped and can be planted using the style of the intensification of agricultural production , any increase in yield per dunam by improving agricultural production ways in addition to the adoption of supplementary irrigation techniques and modern technology such as Albadhirh fertilized, leveling laser, fertilizers and improved seeds and integrated control in agriculture .
The total area planted with grains up to 13.8 million acres, equivalent to 86 percent of cultivated land and the cultivation of wheat constitute the largest agricultural area as amounting to about 5.5 million dunams which is equivalent to 51 percent of the cultivated land area and 30 percent barley crop and rice 3 percent.
Jubouri between it and in order to increase agricultural production horizontally and vertically and the expansion of agricultural land arable area launched the Ministry of Agriculture a package of national programs ranging from the national program for the development of wheat and now the national program for the development of barley, as well as rice and maize and the national program for the development of vegetable crops and the National Program for the development of palm in
Iraq . He stressed that these programs are designed to raise self - sufficiency in agricultural production for the crop ratio over the next few years , despite the suffering of the agricultural sector in Iraq from entering agricultural goods smuggled We call on the Ministry of the Interior and the Customs Authority to punish the smugglers of agricultural goods time prevented by the Ministry of Agriculture during the abundance crop to support the local product and the development of the agricultural sector in
Iraq.
