    On August 9, 2017, Minister of Higher Education and Science and Technology Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa announced the purchase of idle equipment with hundreds of millions of dinars in the Ministry of Science before merging them with the Ministry of Education. He pointed out that he found employees with specialized certificates in the sciences of Quran and Islamic law working in the Ministry of Science and Technology .

    On August 6, 2017, dozens of employees of the Ministry of Science and Technology demonstrated in protest against the Education Minister's "policy", canceling some of the lines for the transfer of staff and preventing them from applying for postgraduate studies.
