The Federal Integrity Commission revealed, on Wednesday, the issuance of a summons order against the deputy head of the Dhi Qar Investment Commission, against the background of violations in one of the major investment projects in the province.
The Commission's Investigation Department stated, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the team of the Dhi Qar Investigation Office monitored legal violations committed by the Dhi Qar Investment Commission in the process of referring an investment project worth more than 105 billion Iraqi dinars," indicating that "many violations occurred." I accompanied the issuance of an investment license to establish a residential city in the governorate.”
The Investigations Department pointed out that "the process of issuing the license took place despite the lack of financial competence and a letter of guarantee issued by an approved financial institution."
And she added, "The team's investigations indicated that the project, which cost (105,069,226,000) billion dinars, was not announced as an investment opportunity, in addition to the fact that the process of issuing the license was carried out based on a non-fundamental and illegal session record, and there was a suspicion of fraud in the signatures of members of the Investment Authority."
And she explained, "The origin of the investment license for the housing project and the original minutes of the session in violation of the law were seized, as well as the reports of each of the (technical, legal, and window) department in the Governorate Investment Authority," noting that "a fundamental seizure report was organized with the seizures in the operation, which was made. Based on a judicial seizure memorandum, and presented it to the competent investigative judge, who decided to bring in the deputy head of the Dhi Qar Investment Authority in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.
