    The Jews are abandoning Israel

Arabic and International   Wednesday, 16 August 2017

For the first time since 2009, Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics has recorded an influx of Jews in excess of their influx.

According to statistics published by the office on Tuesday, the trends of migration in 2015, the number of those who left Israel to live abroad for long periods or permanently, than those who came to Israel twice: the number of departures 16800 people for returnees 8,500 people.

The Office publishes statistics late because the number of exiles includes only those who leave the country for at least one year.

The number of Jews returning in 2015 is the lowest in 12 years, after the index has been gradually declining since 2012.

The average age of Jews leaving Israel is 27.6 years, while men represent 53% of all departures. Among the arrivals, the average age is 28.8 years, while the proportion of men among them 55%. About two-thirds of them came to Israel after a three-year stay abroad.

Aleksandr Boroda, head of the Association of Jewish Communities in Russia, commented on the remarks made by the Israeli Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Zev Elkin, about Russia's return to the list of the first three countries exporting naturalized persons to Israel. Boroda said that this trend is not related to the actual transfer to Israel, but to the desire of Russian Jews to obtain the Israeli passport, allowing them to enter the largest number of countries without a visa.
