    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A
    crisis between Switzerland and Israel erupted after a Swiss hotel invited its Jewish guests to shower before using the swimming pool through controversial banners hung in a hotel.

    "To our Jewish guests, men, women and children, please take a shower before swimming, and if you violate the instructions we will have to prevent you from using the swimming pool," wrote a sign posted at the entrance to the swimming pool.

    Another sign in the kitchen reads: "We ask Jewish guests to use the refrigerator at certain times." The sign explains that she hopes Jewish guests will take care of the rest of the hours.


    Israel has accused the Hotel Paradis in the resort of Arusha in eastern Switzerland of anti-Semitism. The Israeli ambassador in Switzerland called the hotel management to ask for the removal of what he considered racist signs against the Jews.
    In turn, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovili described the incident as "an anti-Semitic act of the ugly kind."

    "Unfortunately, anti-Semitism in Europe is still a reality, and we must make sure that the punishment for such incidents will serve as a deterrent to those who are still being re-branded," she said in a twitter interview.

    According to the Jerusalem Post, hotel manager Ruth Toman, who signed the signs for a Swiss newspaper, said that what the hotel has done is never an anti-Semitic act, but has admitted that it made a mistake in choosing its words.
