The writer calls for revision of the Constitution

This came during the dialogue session held by the House of Representatives on the occasion of the twelfth anniversary of the referendum on the Constitution and under the slogan (our Constitution .. our tent .. and guarantor of our national unity). During the session held at Al-Nahrain University in the presence of parliamentary, political and academic figures and graduate students at the universities of Baghdad and the two rivers reviewed the stages and mechanisms of writing the constitution and the circumstances surrounding the referendum on it. He stressed the importance of the Constitution in the organization of legal and political life in Iraq after many years of chaos. "The writing of the constitution was a huge task under difficult circumstances during which it was agreed upon and presented to the referendum," he said, adding that "the need to take into account the comments on the constitution, which is one of the best constitutions in the region." He also called for "revision in light of the practical experience of the political process." Wael Abdul Latif, a former MP and member of the Constitution Writing Committee, said during his speech during the meeting that "the importance of the constitution in the lives of nations, including Iraq." Abdul Latif gave a presentation on the beginning of the establishment of the Constitution Writing Committee and the procedures it took, as well as presenting a brief about the Governing Council and the Interim Constitution, referring to the difficult circumstances that surrounded the stages of writing the Constitution. The former MP stressed that "the Iraqi constitution is one of the best constitutions of existing countries and was written in a mastery and with the participation of all segments of the Iraqi people." The dialogue session discussed the doors of the Constitution and the problems faced by the Constitution Writing Committee at the time. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, said in his paper presented during the session that any stable, healthy and healthy political system and any country that wants stability and continuity must have a constitution that defines the relations within the boundaries of the system and the state. Dr. Amer Fayyad, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Nahrain, presented a research paper on the Constitution, its importance, mechanisms of writing and amending it, its role in regulating the work of the state and the separation of powers.
