    {Politics: Euphrates News} The head of the leadership council of the National State Forces Alliance, Haider al-Abadi, discussed in his office Thursday, with the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jenin Blashart, the situation in the country, the work of the UNAMI mission, and its future programs, in addition to early elections, and the UN monitoring on it.

    During the meeting, Al-Abadi welcomed, in a statement to his office, the Security Council’s decision to send a UN team to monitor the elections in accordance with Iraqi sovereignty, stressing the importance of holding the elections on time and for the atmosphere to be in place that paves the way for fair elections in which no pressure is exercised and the will of the voter is falsified.
    He pointed out, "The country is going through many challenges and there must be real solutions to these challenges according to prepared plans."
    Al-Abadi stressed, at the same time, "the need to preserve the prestige of the state and respect for institutions, as the country needs stability in order to rebuild it and provide services to its people."

    On Friday, the head of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, set out his position on postponing the upcoming elections, while the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations discussed the UN monitoring.

    The Media Office of Al-Nasr stated in a statement, of which "people" received a copy, (May 28, 2021), that "Haider al-Abadi received in his office the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jenin Blashart, and the meeting witnessed the discussion of the situation in the country, and the work of the United Nations mission in Iraq and its future programs, in addition to early elections, and UN monitoring over them. "

    The head of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, called on the United Nations Mission in Iraq, UNAMI, to actively participate in monitoring the elections to protect the votes of voters from manipulation.
    Al-Abadi said during his meeting with the UN representative in Iraq, Jeanine Blashart, that early elections are very important to correct the wrong paths and strengthen confidence in the political process in the country, stressing the importance of holding the elections on time and working to provide an appropriate environment for fair elections far from fraud and exerting pressure on the will of the voters.
    Al-Abadi stressed the need to devise real solutions to overcome obstacles and challenges, preserve the prestige of the state, and respect all governmental institutions.
