    Confirmed the Parliamentary Committee on the economy, on Sunday, that the absence of the national product and security conditions caused rise in prices of food commodities.

    A member of the Economic Commission Mahma Khalil,'s (IMN), "The rising prices of goods and food, due to high world prices, which affected both directly and indirectly on prices."

    Khalil added that, "One of the reasons for the high prices, the absence of local product in the sectors of agriculture and industry as well as for the security tension that affects the hot spots and outlets to neighboring countries such as the western region, which provides a void in the local market and a rise in prices."

    The Ministry of Planning, earlier, said that rising food prices in the world's impact on Iraq as a net importer of foodstuffs, causing rise in annual inflation during the past two years in Iraq.

    The Iraqi market has seen a gradual rise of prices with the approach of the month of Muharram.
