The National Coalition led by Vice President Iyad Allawi on Tuesday expressed his fear of changing the results of the upcoming elections in some areas of Iraq.

"The presence of militias and armed groups that are not controlled by the state can not guarantee the integrity of the upcoming elections," MP Jamila al-Obeidi said in an interview with the Baghdad Post. "We are afraid of changing the election results in some areas under the control of militias and parties.

Al-Obeidi blamed the Iraqi parties, which have military forces under their orders, for not reforming Iraq's political system and instability.

A member of the National Coalition expressed hope that the next elections will be an opportunity to stop the crises in Iraq, and to remove the corrupt from positions of government and hold them accountable for the destruction of the country.
