    [ltr]Baghdad Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]Iraqi Foreign Minister Rex Talerson is expected to visit Baghdad ahead of a donor conference and the reconstruction of Iraq scheduled for Feb. 12 in Kuwait, Iraqi political sources said.[/ltr]
[ltr]The source told Mawazine News that the visit to Baghdad will be decided in the coming hours, where it is hoped to meet with Iraqi officials, led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, before heading to Kuwait, where he will lead the US delegation to the reconstruction conference of Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]The meeting will be held in the coming hours and whether Baghdad is a station for him or Kuwait on the sidelines of the conference, the sources said.[/ltr]
[ltr]The sources suggested that Talerson would make the statement on Washington's encouragement of private sector funding as an alternative to its contribution to Iraq's reconstruction.[/ltr]
[ltr]"I am not aware of any things we will announce," State Department spokeswoman Heather Naort said in response to a question about any US government announcement on contributions to the conference.[/ltr]
[ltr]"There are about 2,300 private individuals who will join ... and talk about ways they can help facilitate the large-scale reconstruction of Iraq," she said.[/ltr]
[ltr]"This is the third time that Tillerson has met with his counterparts for a meeting of the International Coalition and the first since a defeat in Raqqa since Iraq declared its territory liberated," State Department spokeswoman Heather Naort said.[/ltr]
[ltr]She confirmed that Tillerson "would appreciate Kuwait for hosting these events at a critical time."[/ltr]
[ltr]Tillerson and his counterparts "will discuss how the 74-member international coalition can ensure a lasting defeat for Iraq and Syria, while sharpening the coalition's focus on depriving the world's global ambitions," she said.[/ltr]
[ltr]"He will also take part in events highlighting private sector opportunities to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure and modernize key sectors of its economy to improve the lives of the Iraqi people," Naort said.[/ltr]
[ltr]"This will be an opportunity to support the Iraqi people and help inspire confidence that Iraq is now open to action," she said.[/ltr]
[ltr]She said Tillerson "will meet with senior officials and their counterparts on the sidelines of the Ministerial Conference and the Conference on the reconstruction of Iraq."[/ltr]
[ltr]The Iraq reconstruction conference is scheduled to take place from February 12 to 14, with the participation of a number of donor countries and international and regional organizations, headed by five parties - the European Union, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Nations and the World Bank.[/ltr]
[ltr]On February 13, Kuwait will host the ministerial meeting of the international coalition against Daqash, which includes 74 members from international countries and organizations.[/ltr]
