    Iraq put on the table of the donor conference to be held in Kuwait in the coming days 212 investment projects, some in the Kurdistan region, hoping to get international support about 100 billion dollars. 
    The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced on Thursday evening the end of all preparations for the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, which will start on Monday and extend for three days. 
    The Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement received (copy) that "the agenda of the conference, which will be borne by the official delegation of Iraq, which includes a number of ministers and officials in the relevant authorities of the federal government and the Kurdistan region, in addition to the governors of all provinces, will include three main axes : Reconstruction, investment, support for stability and peaceful coexistence. "
    The Secretariat's statement added that "the government has adopted a series of studies distributed on the three days. The first day will discuss the study of damage and needs survey as well as projects to support stability, community reconciliation and peaceful coexistence. The project included 212 investment projects for all sectors of the Iraqi economy, including projects in the Kurdistan region, which will be announced during the second day of the conference entitled Invest in Iraq. 
    He pointed out that "the final day of the conference will be sponsored by the Emir of the State of Kuwait and the Prime Minister Haider Abadi, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the World Bank and the European Union coordinator to announce the support to be provided by the participating countries to Iraq."
    The statement came hours after Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Investment and Reconstruction, which discussed the provision of the right environment for investment, and that Iraq is an attractive environment for investments through new laws and procedures that are currently underway. 
    The conference will focus on the support and reconstruction of liberated areas, especially that many of these areas considered by the House of Representatives to be "affected." The representative of Nineveh province Farah Al-Sarraj, representing Nineveh province, described the donor conference in Kuwait as "lean."
    "While we were waiting for the donor conference in Kuwait to be eager to help find the necessary funding for the reconstruction of the devastated areas, especially the Nineveh province, which has a population of more than one million, More than 10% of the population of Iraq, we find that the Conference has allocated only 22% of its projects in favor of this province affected.

    During the donors' conference, Kuwait will receive some 3,000 participants from around the world. 
    The European Union announced yesterday that it will participate in the chairmanship of the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq next week. 
    EU High Representative for Foreign and Political Affairs and Vice-President Federica Mugherini and EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Nevin Memika said in a joint statement that the conference to be held in Kuwait from February 12 to 14 aims to mobilize international support for Iraq in this regard. The critical time in its history after the defeat of the last year.
    They added that Iraq stands at a crossroads in its history, stressing the need for rapid action for reconstruction with the participation of all components of Iraqi society.

    US and Western officials told Reuters the United States had no plans to contribute any money to a conference on Iraq reconstruction in Kuwait next week.
    "We are not going to announce anything," a US official said on Thursday regarding financial assistance at the conference, which will be attended by Foreign Secretary Rex Tilerson. But the official said Tillerson might decide to announce an American contribution ahead of the conference.
