    BAGHDAD -
The Information Office of the Minister of Transport Kazem Al-Yamami revealed on Friday that the latter laid the foundation stone for the port of Al-Waseliyah in Basra province, pointing out that the port contributes to the development of trade relations with Iran.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Minister of Transport Kazem Al-Yamami, on Friday, laid the foundation stone for the port of Al-Waseliyah in the Saybah area in Basra province and a joint operation contract with the Cities Company.
"A high-level Iranian diplomatic delegation participated in the ceremony," he said, adding that the delegation "expressed its full readiness to cooperate in order to ensure the success of this important port."
"This port will provide 3,000 thousand jobs exclusively for the people of the region, as well as the commercial movement that will play in the transport of goods between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iraqi side, which will greatly reduce the port of Shalamjp border," Hamami said.
"The company will be obliged to establish a tourist resort for the people of the area adjacent to the port, with the new harbor containing several berths for the transportation of miscellaneous goods, which will be a strategic crossing between the two beers and Abadan." / End of 25
