Deputy: Ministry of Oil transferred Basra to the worst environment and directed to eliminate its children contaminants

Warned the MP for Basra behind Abdul Samad, on Sunday, that Basra is turning into a patch of oil and its people live in the worst environment in the world, calling religious authorities to rescue international organizations from the tragic reality, while accusing the Ministry of Oil to eliminate agriculture in Basra and the trend to eliminate its children by Contaminants.
"It is shameful for the decision makers to turn Basra into an oil patch and its people live in the world's worst environment," Abdul Samad said in a statement received by the Journal News. "The way the government deals with Basra is bad."
He called on religious authorities, stakeholders and international organizations to "save Basra from its tragic reality," pointing out that "the Ministry of Oil has eliminated the agriculture in Basra and aims to eliminate its children by pollutants released by the oil facilities."
He warned that "the systematic and unjust razing campaign targeting agricultural land and date palm farms in Basra has wiped out vast areas of agricultural land and has reached a critical point where Basra might have a different position."
Abdul Samad called on the representatives of Basra in the House of Representatives to the provincial council to "stand in a single row and to defend the rights of Basra and to obtain their rights and end the series of injustice that has been inflicted by tens of years and still."
The province of Basra is witnessing an increase in cases of cancer, including a large number of children because of environmental pollution caused by oil fields, while rising voices of the people of the province demanding an end to the pollution in their regions, which reached dangerous levels, according to specialists.
