Even though it is rich in natural wealth, but its people live below the poverty line, because of the government corruption that plundered the country's wealth and stole the money of its people and the environmental pollution prevalent in it, it is Basra Fayhaa, where life has become very difficult.

In this context, the member of Parliament for Basra, behind Abdul Samad, the transformation of the province to an oil patch and its people living in the worst environment in the world, calling on international organizations to save them from the tragic reality, accusing at the same time the Ministry of Oil to eliminate agriculture in Basra and the trend to eliminate its children by Contaminants.

Abdul Samad said it is wrong for decision-makers to turn Basra into a patch of oil and its people live in the worst environment in the world, noting that the way the government deals with Basra is bad.

Abdul Samad called on the stakeholders and international organizations to save Basra from its tragic reality. He pointed out that the Ministry of Oil has eliminated agriculture in Basra and aims to eliminate its children through pollutants released by the oil installations.

He warned that the systematic and unfair destruction of agricultural land and palm plantations in Basra has destroyed vast areas of agricultural land. The situation has reached a critical point in which Basra may have a different position, calling on the House of Representatives to issue a law criminalizing the uprooting of palm trees.

Abdul Samad called on the representatives of Basra in the House of Representatives to the provincial council to "stand in a single row and to defend the rights of Basra and to obtain their rights and end the series of injustice that has been inflicted by tens of years and still."

The Basra Provincial Council also acknowledged that the province is facing a major humanitarian and environmental disaster, calling on the federal government in Baghdad to spare the areas of Basra and specifically south of the disaster because of salinity of water and the scarcity of potable water, pointing out that the continued decline in water flows caused increased salinity and loss of livestock and fisheries .

The province of Basra is witnessing an increase in cases of cancer, including a large number of children because of environmental pollution caused by the oil fields, while rising voices of the people of the province demanding an end to the pollution in their regions, which reached dangerous levels.
