WASHINGTON (Reuters ) - US President George W. Bush's chief economic adviser Donald Trump predicted US GDP growth figures for the second quarter would be "significant".
The United States is set to release preliminary estimates for US economic growth in the second quarter of this year on Friday.
"The United States will see very good economic growth figures tomorrow," Larry Kodlo said in televised remarks reported by the Financial Times on Thursday.
When asked whether he was authorized to speculate on the report, he explained that he had no information or details.
Analysts forecast that US GDP will grow by about 4.1% from April to June as consumer spending reinforces momentum.
According to media reports, US President Donald Trump expects 4.8 percent growth in the US economy in the quarter to June.
According to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the gross domestic product of the world's largest economy grew by 2 percent in the first three months of 2018 on a year-on-year basis.
Kudlo's comments came after Trump received a blow in June against a backdrop of a job report expected an hour before the official disclosure of the data, which at the time provoked anger from the economic community.
