Masoum assured the American ambassador that the elected parliament will convene in accordance with the constitution and laws
President of the Republic Fuad Masoum on Sunday assured US Ambassador to Baghdad Douglas Silliman that the call for the House of Representatives to be convened will be in accordance with the constitution and the laws in force.
In a statement to the presidency of the republic, Masoum said, "this morning in his office in Baghdad, the US ambassador to Iraq, Douglas Seelman, reviewed with him ways to strengthen relations of cooperation between the two countries and the two friendly peoples.
During the meeting, Masoum expressed appreciation for the continued support of the United States in various fields, reiterating that the call of the House of Representatives elected to be held will be in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in force, according to the statement.
For his part, the US ambassador renewed his country's support for the stability of Iraq and to continue to provide necessary assistance to Iraqis in all fields in the framework of the strategic agreement between the two countries.
