    Obama's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq in 2011, without reaching an agreement with Baghdad to allow the United States to maintain military presence, led to the inability of Washington to continue to influence developments in Iraqi politics.

    01/09/2014 / BAGHDAD / obelisk wondered newspaper "Daily Telegraph", in an editorial about the lesson of Iraq, especially in Anbar province, which could benefit from Western countries in the war on terrorism.

    The newspaper said that "the West should take that into consideration, while the end of the year, withdraw from Afghanistan," and warned of "serious risks unexpected."

    The newspaper pointed out that "the return of al Qaeda militants for control of Iraq's Anbar province at the present time, we must remember that the leaders of Western countries, the risks they face in their quest to end combat operations in Afghanistan by the end of 2014."

    She stated that "Obama's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq in 2011, without reaching an agreement with Baghdad allowing the United States to maintain military presence, led to the inability of Washington to continue to influence developments in Iraqi politics."

    Reported that "Obama preferred to tell his supporters to end the war in Iraq that has not received much support was among the most prominent successes in foreign policy, but it will not seem as if al-Qaeda has regained control of the territory which killed thousands of young Americans."

    The newspaper pointed out that "during the sectarian violence that erupted in the wake of the overthrow of Saddam in 2003, has become cities such as Fallujah and Ramadi, both located in the heart of Anbar province, a synonym for the bloody insurgency launched by al-Qaeda."

    It noted that "these rebels had been defeated when local tribes turned against them during what is known as the Anbar Awakening, helping to send U.S. troops to defeat the extremists and expel them out of Iraq."

    She added, "So the fact that the return of al-Qaeda banner fluttering over again this is a Sunni strongholds Artkasa dangerous for those seeking a peaceful, democratic and prosperous Iraq."

    The newspaper called for the need to learn the lesson, pointing out that "the leaders of Western countries to make sure that the sacrifices that have been made in Afghanistan, not in vain, and as is the case in Iraq, as soon rebound failure of these leaders to them."
