"The leader of the alliance," National Axis, "which includes most of the Sunni blocs in the Iraqi parliament on Saturday," optimistic "the visit by the President of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan Massoud Barzani to the federal capital Baghdad.
"He is very optimistic about the visit of the leader Massoud Barzani to Baghdad; in order to formulate a new national spirit governing the political scene has been dispersed for some time," he said in a statement on social networking platforms "Twitter."
"We hope to launch a transient Iraqi alliance of sectarianism and nationalism, establishing a fair state and a national government to sponsor the son of Basra and Ibn al-Sharqat and Ibn Halabja alike."
Barzani arrived in Baghdad on Thursday morning and held a series of meetings with political leaders and government officials in Baghdad, a move he said was to "correct the course" between the two sides.
The two sides stressed that "there is a new opportunity for relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the need to work to build confidence and resolve differences and the embodiment of real partnership."
Barzani made a visit to Baghdad, the first since 2017, and after strained relations between the two sides in an unprecedented manner, following the referendum on independence for the Kurdistan region, which supported 93% of voters for independence from Iraq.
