    The MP for the province of Salah al-Din Muthanna al-Samarrai, a decision by the Council of Representatives to freeze the work of provincial councils against the backdrop of continuing conflicts between the political blocs on the post of some conservatives who won parliamentary membership in the recent elections.
    Al-Samarrai said in a statement that "what is witnessed by the provincial councils of divisions and new alignments and the subsequent changes in local governments, whether to change the governors and their assistants or heads of councils or even departmental managers has become a negative phenomenon increases the repercussions of the crisis situation in the country and lead to deepen the problems and differences between the political blocs Especially as some of these changes are carried out in accordance with suspicious deals that are not aimed at the good of the provinces as much as they are keen to achieve immediate interests and narrow parties. "
    He added that "there is an urgent need to work to alleviate the crisis in Iraq and that the political parties make all the necessary efforts to impose a state of stability in local governments in the provinces until the holding of the elections of its councils, which is expected to be decided soon in the House of Representatives."
    Al-Samarrai pointed out that "the continuing state of confusion and conflicts in the current provincial councils will prompt us to submit a bill in the House of Representatives includes the freezing of the work of the provincial councils and stop the procedures of changing the governors, and that the House of Representatives control the work of local governments until the holding of new local elections."
