Muller recommends the imprisonment of the former Trump campaign manager 24 years
Robert Mawler, the US special prosecutor charged with investigating possible Russian intervention in the US elections, has recommended Paul Manavort, former director of President Trump's campaign for 19 to 24 years, to be jailed.
According to the Associated Press, this recommendation comes against the conviction of Manavort, 69, in August last year on charges of tax fraud and banking and failure to disclose external bank accounts.
Mueller's office wrote in a 26-page recommendation on the verdict that "Manavort acted for more than a decade as if above the law."
"The referee must be a deterrent to Manavort and others who are involved in such behavior."
No date has been set for the verdict against Manavort, the source said.
It is noteworthy that investigations into the issue of Russian intervention consider the possibility of collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow, or deliberately the US President obstruction of the investigation of the FBI on the same case.
