Minister of Agriculture Saleh al-Hassani announced the prevention of 16 crops from imports as a result of self-sufficiency in return for increasing domestic production.
Al-Husseini said in a statement that the ministry has achieved self-sufficiency in the number of vegetable crops, in return for the increase of local production and quantity of strategic crops, including the barley crop for the 2018 2018 agricultural season. Barley for this season will cover and exceed the local need for livestock from feed and can be increased as the receipt continues. "
He added that "the Ministry of Agriculture has achieved self-sufficiency of a number of vegetable crops, while the ministry has prevented (16) crops from import, and this is the result of providing agricultural inputs subsidized to farmers and farmers."
