Economic specialist: 35 percent of Iraqis live below the poverty line
The economist Dr. [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/131888/%D8%AD%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%AF %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%83%D9%81%D8%A7%D8%A6%D9%8A][size=13]Hamid Al-Kifai[/url] said: "The Iraqi economy needs real and thoughtful solutions and effective solutions, and gradually away from dependence on exports of raw materials such as oil, and depends on production and the real contribution to the global economy."
"It is a mistake to consider the Iraqi economy as a rentier economy, although the source of money is oil revenues," Kifai said in a speech at the conference (Iraqi Economy to Where) organized by the Association of Iraqi Academics in London.
He explained: "The reason is that it is not comparable to other rentier economies in the Gulf, for example, where wealth is distributed among citizens and does not find a citizen living below the poverty line as in Iraq."
