The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that the House of Representatives is studying a proposal to extend the retirement age for health and educational professions to five years to benefit from their scientific expertise.
Committee member Salim Hamzah said in a statement to "Information", that "the unified retirement law voted by the House of Representatives bears a kind of prejudice against experts in the field of medicine and education," noting that "setting the retirement age by 60 years will cause the exit of a large number of experts in The fields of medicine and education.
He added that "the House of Representatives is currently studying a proposal to extend the retirement age of some doctors and scientific cadres, because referring them to retirement will create a scientific void that is difficult to compensate for," noting that "the extension may reach five and seven years for a very few category according to the state's need for them."
