, Member of Parliamentary Finance Committee Sherwan Mirza Qadir confirmed on Wednesday that the budget deficit is very large and cannot be covered by loans.
Qadir said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, that "Iraq needs a new budget because the financial deficit in this budget is very large and cannot be covered by loans."
He added that "the parliamentary finance is awaiting the plans of the new government on the budget, whether it is semi-annual or monthly," noting that "the committee does not yet know the economic plans of the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi."
Qadir continued: "We need two long-term and fast plans to maximize imports and not rely on oil, in addition to our need to streamline government expenditures and institutions and control border border resources." Ended 29 / p
