    BAGHDAD / The parliamentary finance committee warned on Sunday of a large rise in the deficit of the budget of 2019, while a proposal was submitted to prevent a rise in the budget deficit.

    "The deficit in the budget of 2018, was 12 trillion Iraqi dinars, but the deficit in the budget of 2019, amounted to more than 27 trillion dinars," said the member of the Committee Ahmed Haji Rashid, "the eye of Iraq News," noting that "if the oil prices continue to decline , The budget deficit ($ 56 per barrel per day), the deficit will increase by an additional 20 trillion, and may reach more than 45 trillion, especially since the price of a barrel of oil in the market now is $ 43.

    Rashid said that "the price of sale of oil in the budget should be reduced, to prevent the rise of the budget deficit, this will have significant negative consequences on the country's economic situation."

    The budget of 2019 amounted to 128.4 trillion dinars, divided into 95.8 trillion dinars current expenditures and 32.59 trillion dinars investment expenditures, while the planned deficit amounted to 22.8 trillion dinars, Iraq calculated the price of oil in the budget $ 56 a barrel.
