The Turkish Ministry of Defense published scenes on Wednesday of the airstrikes launched by their Air Force on the sites of the Kurdistan Workers Party, as part of Operation Tiger Claw.

In the video published by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the minister, Hulusi Akar, can be seen watching the operation from their command center.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed that their aircraft and ground forces destroyed “terrorist targets” in the Haftanin area, which is in the northern part of the country.

In the past years, the Turkish forces have carried out intensive operations against the PKK, whom they consider terrorists, in both Iraq and Syria, saying that this is in response to attacks launched or planned by elements of the Kurdistan Workers Party, which Turkey has been fighting the Turkish military for nearly four decades inside and outside the country.

    Background
Terrorist acts in Iraq using explosives and firearms. Attacks accompanied by a large number of victims are carried out against the civilian population, law enforcement officers, and diplomatic missions of other states.

Islamic State or ISIS are responsible for some of the attacks. A common tactic is to undermine mined cars, as well as suicide bombings. Explosions are heard in mosques, markets, restaurants, during the funeral.

By the number of terrorist acts, Iraq is one of the hottest spots in the world. More than 40,000 people died from the attacks.
