The state of law decides its matter and tends to challenge the budget, and the approach is studying its steps

Baghdad / Muhammad Sabah
The State of Law coalition has taken a decision to challenge 6 articles of the Federal Budget Law for 2021 before the Federal Court, confirming that its members will carry out their first duties in the next two days, while the National Approach bloc is waiting for a meeting to decide whether or not to resort to the court.
Ahmed Al-Kanani, head of the Parliamentary Economic and Investment Committee, confirmed in a statement to (Al-Mada) that "the State of Law Coalition Bloc will file appeals before the Federal Court on six articles in the draft federal budget law for 2021 after the announcement of the republican decree forming it, expected in the next two days."
Last week, the House of Representatives voted on the draft Federal Budget Law for the Republic of Iraq for the year 2021 in the session that witnessed the withdrawal of the State of Law and National Approach blocs and deputies of separate parliamentary blocs.
Kanani, who is a deputy from the Parliamentary State of Law Coalition, adds that "our resort to the Federal Court to appeal the six articles is a natural matter guaranteed to us by the constitution in accordance with our democratic political parliamentary system."
After passing the draft federal budget law, the State of Law bloc confirmed in a statement that it tried to lift articles in the law, including reducing external borrowing, equality and justice in the distribution of wealth among all governorates of Iraq, defending the families of martyrs, prisoners, detainees and detainees, lifting the paragraphs that harm them, closing corruption outlets and preserving State property, assets and infrastructure, pressure of unnecessary and wasteful expenditures, and the allocation of job grades for contract holders and lecturers.
Al-Kinani expects that "the presidency will issue a republican decree in the next two or three days to appoint members of the Federal Court to start their work," stressing, "Submitting the appeal on the first day directly to the court."
For his part, Mazen Al-Faily, a representative of the National Approach Parliamentary Bloc, added in a statement to (Al-Mada) that his bloc "submitted forty notes on the Federal Budget Law, and as a result we refused to participate in the voting session," considering that "these observations were important and fundamental in the interest of the intention. The state and the economic system in general.
Al-Faily expresses his regret for “not taking these observations made by his bloc to the House of Representatives,” pointing out that “the decision of our bloc from the outset not to participate in the voting session if these observations made by them are not taken into account.”
Among the most prominent of the forty remarks made by the National Approach bloc on the budget law is the abolition of Article (38) which permits the privatization of all the state's production and service sectors and allows the participation of investors and contractors in ownership of oil and gas fields, power stations, Iraqi Airways aircraft and government banks, and the cancellation of articles (42,41). Which allows state-owned agricultural land to be sold to owners of the right to dispose of it at a value much less than its real value and will create widespread social conflicts.
He notes that his mass "with a coalition of state law and a number of deputies from separate blocs refused to vote on the federal budget law," indicating that "the number of MPs who object to passing the budget law ranges from 40 to 35 deputies."
Regarding the approach of the Al-Nahj bloc to the Federal Court to challenge the budget law, the MP from Wasit Governorate answers that "this decision will be studied by our bloc in the near future."
He points out that "there is a convergence of visions and position between the state of law and the national approach in many matters," stressing that "the national approach and the state of law and other representatives have a unified position on the federal budget law."
For his part, Saad Al-Muttalabi, an independent politician, added in a statement to (Al-Mada) that "one of the most important articles that he will challenge is raising the selling price of the dollar and some other materials." Appeal against budget materials.
He continues that "the state of law bloc has settled its matter and will head towards the Federal Court to challenge the budget law, as well as other political blocs and parties that will announce their position in the coming period."
