, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met on Thursday with the negotiating delegation with the federal government. While the meeting confirmed that there is no justification for the Federal Ministry of Finance not to send the financial rights and dues to the region.
A statement of the regional government, Mawazine News, received a copy of it, stated that "the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met today with the negotiating delegation with the federal government."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed the course of negotiations between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government on the implementation of the Federal General Budget Law for the year 2021, and the results of the recent talks held by the delegation recently during its visit to Baghdad were highlighted."
He continued, "The negotiating delegation reviewed the results of its meetings on the implementation of commitments, especially those related to the region within the framework of the general budget law with regard to oil and non-oil revenues that were agreed upon during meetings with ministries and relevant federal parties regarding the mechanism for implementing the aforementioned law."
The statement indicated, "It was referred to the agreement of both the Federal Financial Supervision Bureaus and the region, during which a joint mechanism was approved to implement the duties specified for them in the budget law according to their specificities, and the meeting pointed out that there was no justification for the Federal Ministry of Finance to refrain from sending the region's rights and dues." The statement continued, "The meeting renewed the region's commitment to the federal general budget law, and called on the federal government, in return, to send its financial rights and entitlements." Ended 29/A43
