The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna, confirmed, on Thursday, the increase in the pace of campaigns against (violating) foreign workers, noting that the ministry has deported more than 32 foreign workers working illegally.
[size=15]Al-Muhanna said, in a statement to NRT Arabic, today, June 22, 2021), that "the issue of foreign labor is one of the most important problems facing Iraqi society, indicating that foreign labor violates labor laws in the country."[/size]
[size=15]Al-Muhanna stressed that "according to the government's recent directives to support the local product and employ the unemployed, the Ministry of Interior has been assigned to follow up the file of illegal foreign workers," noting that "the ministry has sent more than 32,000 foreign workers of various nationalities to their countries."[/size]
[size=15]He explained that "the campaigns are still continuing and at a high pace due to the facilitation of travel procedures at the international level, and the possibility of deporting violating workers without hindrance."[/size]
[size=15]The Parliamentary Labor Committee revealed that 400 million dollars exit from Iraq per month due to foreign workers, stressing that the number of workers is estimated at 800,000 foreign workers.[/size]
