{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Tuesday, bilateral agreements between Iraq and Iran to raise gas emissions and restore Iranian lines to work.
A statement of the Ministry of Electricity, of which {Al-Furat News} received a copy, stated that "the Undersecretary for Production Affairs, Adel Karim, received in his office at the ministry's headquarters, the charge d'affaires of the Iranian embassy in Iraq (Musa Alizadeh) to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of energy and fuel."

The Iranian ambassador indicated, according to the statement, "the Islamic Republic of Iran's continuous efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Iraqi and Iranian peoples and the depth of the deep historical relations that bind them, and that Iran is ready to raise gas pumping rates and re-work Iranian lines, and the possibility of operating (Amara-Karkha) lines to contribute stabilization of voltages in the southern governorates.

The undersecretary commended the serious initiatives offered by the Islamic Republic to enhance development cooperation between the two friendly countries, noting that "the ministry needs to pump gas to meet the needs of the generating stations, and we are proceeding with our governmental commitments for joint work on energy issues, which is one of the ministry's core strategies and interests at the present time." ".
The agent explained that the energy lines and towers have been subjected for a long time to deliberate and organized sabotage attacks in order to deprive citizens of electrical energy, the last of which was the complete halt of the national system last Friday as a result of the separation of electric power transmission lines, but the ministry accepted the challenge in Reconstruction and rehabilitation through field leadership to modify and increase processing hours in order to remain at the level of ambition and the subject of citizens' trust.

The Undersecretary concluded the meeting by expressing his thanks to the Iranian government and people for this step and for all the initiatives that would chart a better situation in light of the current circumstances that Iraq is going through, which need integrated visions and sincere intentions in working to reach the maximum satisfaction of common interests.
