    Iraq chaired the 18th Arab Conference of Chiefs of Investigation and Forensic Evidence Services.
    The Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement received by the National News Center, that “Iraq chaired the 18th Arab Conference of Chiefs of Investigation and Forensic Evidence Services for the period from 17-2021/8/19, and during the virtual meeting a number of topics were discussed, including the reality of ballistic databases.” (weapon fingerprints), and linking biometric fingerprint databases between Arab countries.
    She added: “Arab guidelines have also been developed regarding special investigative methods, and ways to enhance cooperation between public prosecutions, detective services and forensic evidence.”
    The Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Muhammad Koman, said at the opening of the conference that "the meeting is the first after the spread of the Corona virus pandemic, which created serious repercussions and placed heavy responsibilities on the security services."

    For his part, the head of the conference, Major General Iyad Abdel Hamza Al-Issawi, said in his speech: “The conference will continue the process of Arab cooperation to serve common issues, and we are convinced of the importance of continuing to develop criminal policies, and unify procedures to combat terrorist and international cross-border crimes.”
