    {Umniah: Al Furat News} The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, confirmed that the government is proceeding with imposing the law in the Sinjar district, west of Nineveh Governorate.
    Al-Kazemi said in a tweet on Twitter, "We congratulate our Yazidi people on the Feast of Fasting (Rovit Yazi), wishing them happiness and contentment in the new year in their country, Iraq."
    He stressed, "We will continue our intensive efforts to restore stability, security and a decent life," stressing, "We are continuing to impose the authority of the state and the law in Sinjar and to combat extremist ideas and organizations, especially ISIS."
    It is noteworthy that on October 9, 2020, the Baghdad government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi signed an agreement with the government of Erbil, to maintain security in Sinjar by the federal security forces, in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Forces, to expel illegal armed groups out of the judiciary.
    The agreement also provides for the termination of the PKK's presence in Sinjar, and the abolition of any role for entities associated with it in the region.
    So far, workers are still present in the district, contrary to the terms of the agreement between Baghdad and Erbil, according to the mayor of Sinjar district, Mahma Khalil, in previous statements.
    The PKK had established a foothold in Nineveh, especially in Sinjar, in the west of the province, when the terrorist Daesh invaded the area in the summer of 2014, and established the so-called "Sinjar Protection Units" there.
