[size=30]Promises to add 6,000 megawatts next summer turn into a joke.. Iraq has been "inquiring" for 6 months about the decline of Iran's gas and lose 30% of its production

    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

As soon as temperatures dropped in Iraq and citizens resorted to increasing electricity consumption for the purpose of heating, the problem of the decline in Iranian gas and the significant decline in energy supply became apparent, while the Ministry of Electricity speaks from time to time about its intention to add nearly 6,000 megawatts next year.

Iranian gas, which operates Iraqi stations providing more than 6,000 megawatts, decreased from 50 million cubic meters to only 8 million cubic meters, which caused Iraq to lose about 30% of its production, reducing production from more than 20 thousand megawatts to less than 15 thousand megawatts.

The problem of the decline of Iranian gas has become one of the most ambiguous problems. Although it has been going on for more than 6 months, the Ministry of Electricity is still talking about the continuation of “negotiations” with the Iranian side, without revealing where those negotiations reached as well as the reasons for the decline of gas, as the Ministry of Electricity announced Recently, the decline in gas is not related to debt, in addition to the fact that Iran recently announced that Iraq has already paid part of its debts, which raises questions about the reason for the decline of Iranian gas from Iraq.

No party, whether from Iran or Iraq, has announced the reason for the decline of gas, while questions are raised about the period that the Ministry of Electricity will take to “inquire” from the Iranian side about the reasons for the decline of gas, and how long it will take to negotiate with other countries to import gas from them instead of Iran. Especially with the promises of electricity to add about 6 thousand megawatts next summer, as the ministry must recover the lost 6 thousand first due to the decline of gas before adding any new energy from stations that do not have fuel for them in the first place.
