Independent bloc: We did not break the quorum of the parliament session and did not vote for Al-Halbousi
Shafaq News/ The Independent Popular Bloc clarified on Monday its position on the events that took place in the opening session of the Iraqi Parliament yesterday.
Representative Sajjad Salem, a spokesman for the bloc, said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency; His bloc "with the constitutional terms, and even though the MP's work is within the dome of Parliament and did not participate in breaking the quorum," pointing out that "the popular bloc (5 deputies) did not participate in the vote on the Speaker of the House of Representatives."
And he indicated that "the popular bloc participated in voting with the rest of the independents on the candidates for the first and second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, who were not lucky to win."
On November 3, 2021, a number of independent candidates who won the elections announced the formation of the "Independent Popular Bloc," and it was agreed that "Mohammed Anouz will be the coordinator of this bloc, and Sajjad Salem will be the official spokesman."
