The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued its recommendations regarding the project to rehabilitate and develop the entrances to Baghdad
. And the development of the entrances to the capital, Baghdad, and its streets) issued in the eighth session of the Diwani Order Committee (32 of 2019), headed by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi.
The statement indicated that "the recommendations included that the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Public Works and Municipalities / the National Center for Engineering Consultation, provide the Cabinet Affairs Department and the committees, with the procedures taken regarding the preparation of bills of quantities for the prepared designs, and the Roads and Bridges Department, a study that includes its vision regarding the sites and constructions for the controls of the entrances to the capital. Baghdad, in coordination with the Baghdad Governorate.
The recommendations also included, according to the statement, “The Department of Roads and Bridges resolved the issue of erecting and operating axial scales at the entrances to the capital, to ensure control of loads and reduce damages caused by them on the roads, in coordination with the National Investment Commission and the Baghdad Governorate, as well as the Ministry of Electricity, providing an inventory. The contradictions that fall within the entrances (Baghdad-Bismaya, and Baghdad-Diyala Al-Jadid), in coordination with the Municipality of Baghdad, and sending them to the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Public Works and Municipalities.
The statement added, "The recommendations also included that the Ministry of Transport present a detailed study on the most important problems and obstacles facing the project of implementing trade exchange yards at the entrances, and preparing for an expanded meeting to resolve the issue."
